Gearing up for recording the CD,with a side trip to a playing job in Washington DC, plus the ins and outs of the sessions themselves at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX has been documented by Dan in two Final Note columns,
The Build-Up and
Recording at Sonic Ranch.
It features Dan on
sarod,
oud,
ruan and of course, guitar. The trio is rounded out by
Ricardo Amaya and
Erik Hickerson on percussion instruments galore.
The band has been hitting it hard in West Texas/New Mexico with their steady schedule of 3, 4, 5 gigs a week. KTEP in El Paso and KRWG in Las Cruces, NM have been featuring tunes from the new one. Look for a greater national push once the smoke clears from the holidays.
